Synopsis

The crowns of Forsyth Royalty aren’t built with jewels. They’re forged in blood and sacrifice.

The Lords never expected Story Austin to walk back into their life.

They certainly never thought she’d rise to be their Queen.

But they aren’t the only Royals in Forsyth.

The Dukes are known for winning with their fists, but transforming Lavinia Lucia from the Kings’ captive to their unwilling Duchess will be their biggest match yet.

Dukes of Ruin is the 4th book in the Forsyth University series. This one is a whole new frat, so new cheaters and a new story, and both were amazing!
The first book in the Dukes section of the series is very character-driven. Unlike in the Lords series, most of the guys don’t have a history with Lavinia, so there is a lot of building that. In many ways, this book is darker than the Lords’ first book, but I think it somehow didn’t seem as dark because Lavinia is such a strong woman. She was much more equipped to handle herself.
I really loved the characters. They all have suffered from trauma, and it is interesting to see how they deal with it so differently. As I mentioned, this is a very character-driven book, so we got to know these four really well. It helped too that it is told from all four of their points of view. My favorite POV to read was Remy, for sure. I loved seeing how shrewd he actually is. Sy and Nick were great, but I foresee Remy being a fan favorite. This is undoubtedly a situation where these four need each other, and I think they will make a solid bond once they get it together!
The actual plot doesn’t show up until close to the end of the book. As with the first book, there is a mystery here to be solved. We just get the first bits and pieces of it this book, but I am very excited to see what happens there. So much happened toward the end of this book that the wait for the next book will be excruciating!
