Synopsis

I’m obsessed with Laila Fitzgerald. There, I finally admitted it. I’ve tried not to want her. I tried to step aside when my best friend said he wanted her. But it’s proved impossible. She’s too gorgeous and talented, too charismatic and badass, for me not to want her for myself.

Unfortunately, though, karma’s a bitch. In trying to do the right thing by my best friend, I’ve done the wrong thing by myself. I’ve pushed her away every chance I’ve had. Dug way too deep a hole to crawl out of . . . And now, Laila downright hates my guts. And rightly so.

But since we’re stuck together, yet again—and, this time, even more closely—I’ve decided nothing will stop me from getting what I want. This time, I’m going to figure out a way to coax Laila into falling out of hate with me . . .

Review

Falling into Love With You is the follow-up to Falling out of Hate with You. I liked this duet because the first book focused on the enemies to lovers trope, and this one is more focused on the fake dating aspect.

Savage is a new man in this book, maybe it’s because he’s no longer trying to push Lila away, but I feel like we finally see the real Savage in this book. Lila was still Lila, though I do wish she had trusted her instincts a little more. I think both characters seemed a little more mature in this book, and likely that was more to do with them no longer pretending to be sleeping with other people…

As I mentioned, this book focuses more on the fake dating trope (another of my favorites), so there is less animosity between them as they are now working toward a common goal. I liked that they tried to put the past aside, and though that is easier said than done, they both did an excellent job of trying to move forward. We see Savage’s sweet and caring side throughout the plot, and I loved seeing how kind and protective he is.

It is no surprise that I enjoyed this duet because, well, I am a huge Lauren Rowe fan, but even if I wasn’t, these books were funny, adorable, with just the right amount of steam!
