Synopsis

All I wanted is for my little sister Della to be safe and happy. And maybe, in brief stolen moments, I dreamed of a happy ending for myself with a brown-eyed man. That hope has turned into sharp, bright fear. There’s only survival now.

I’m the daughter of a controlling and cruel billionaire, so I understand about power. But I find myself fighting anyway. I find myself testing them.

I have claws and I bite. I’m not going down without a fight.

It’s like I have a death wish.

Review

I really enjoyed Triple Threat, but I have to say Death Wish fell a little flat for me.

Part of the reason, I think, was that the guys, Scout especially, fell into old habits. I was hoping they all turned over sort of new leaves, and while we get there, it took longer than I would have liked. So I felt like the work of making me like them in Triple Threat was thwarted a little at the beginning of this book. And I get it, they are very flawed characters, but I just didn’t love how this book started.

I also felt like some things were thrown into this book that would have made more sense coming out in book one.
This book felt a little rushed to me, and again, if certain things had been set up in book one, I don’t think it would have felt as rushed. There were twists added in that honestly didn’t feel all that twisty or needed.

I just wish this book had focused more on the character development started in book one and less on trying to surprise us. I still enjoyed it, but I know I could have enjoyed it more.
