The Golden Boys is for all those Gossip Girl lovers out there.
Bully romance with a privileged guy, with a tortured past, and a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, Blue is a poor girl just trying to get by and protect her family. While West has everything, including a colossal resentment towards his father.
West and Blue have lots of great verbal sparring, which kept this book interesting. What kept me from really loving the book was the ending, It was very much not what I was hoping for, and I feel like this book was drawn out. I vaguely have an idea of how this is all going to end up, and while I don’t know exactly how everything will turn out, the end game is clear. I think that this series likely could have been two books instead of three. Of course, I’ve only read the first one, so perhaps I’m wrong.
I did love the chemistry between West and Blue, and though the ending annoyed me, I am intrigued enough to keep reading.
