Synopsis

I’m not a good man, and I’ve never pretended to be. I don’t believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn’t paid for in advance.
What do I believe in? Money. Sex. Macallan 18.
They have words for men like me—playboy. Womanizer. Skirt chaser.
My brother used to be a priest, and he only has one word for me.

Sinner.

I might be under their protection, but I’m also at their mercy.

Review

I didn’t know if it could get hotter than Father Tyler Bell in Priest, but let me tell you, Sean Bell is definitely a Sinner.

Sinner is not quite as taboo as Priest since Zenny isn’t technically a nun yet, but it’s just as steamy, if not more so.  Those Bell boys sure like their oil; wow!  If you’ve read Priest, you know the tragedy that rocked the family and how each of the brothers has handled it differently.  Sean has dismissed religion and stopped believing in God.

I loved Zenny, she was incredibly smart and focused, and her faith was so unwavering.  In many ways, she and Sean were total opposites and also just what the other needed.  I also loved Sean. He was highly flawed but was able to recognize those flaws.

I felt some parts of the story were not tied up or talked about at all, like the rift between the two families and the whole best friend’s sister.  These issues were discussed early on, but then nothing came of them at the end of the story, and I wish they had been addressed even briefly.  Other than that, the story is great. It is told entirely from Sean’s point of view, which makes sense since the story is really about his growth.

I listened to the audiobook, and if you have that option, I would highly recommend that.  Jacob Morgan is the narrator, and you probably know, he is my favorite narrator EVER! He is so great at being arrogant and emotional, and he makes an already amazing book even better!
