Synopsis

Money can buy anything. And anyone.

As the head of the Constantine family, I’m used to people bowing to my will. Cruel, rigid, unyielding—I’m all those things.

When I discover the one woman who doesn’t wither under my gaze, but instead smiles right back at me, I’m intrigued. Ash Elliott needs cash, and I make her trade in crudeness and degradation for it.

I crave her tears, her moans, her submission. I pay for each one. And every time, she comes back for more.

When she challenges me with an offer of her own, I have to decide if I’m willing to give her far more than cold hard cash. But love can have deadly consequences when it comes from a Constantine. At the stroke of midnight, that choice may be lost for both of us.

Review

I knew Stroke of Midnight was a Cinderella retelling, but that was about all I knew. I had no idea how dark and dirty this would be nor how much I would enjoy it!

Winston is an alphahole through and through.  He’s demanding, and I love his reaction to Ash.  He isn’t used to anyone talking back to him, and he absolutely loves it.  I loved their relationship and how their romance grew between them.  Neither of them wants to like the other, but they do.

I say this in many of my reviews, and I will repeat it here, the dual POV makes this book.  Having both Ash and Winston’s perspectives is very important in this book, given the nature of their relationship.  There will be people who have trouble with the book, Winston likes Ash’s embarrassment and degradation, and that’s not for everyone.  This is where the dual POV becomes important because you realize Ash is into it, and Winston has feelings for Ash.

This one ends in a cliffhanger, and I have book two ready to go
