Synopsis

Betraying the most powerful man in New York wasn’t something I ever envisioned when I first started playing games with Winston Constantine. But he’s engaged in far more dangerous games than ours, and his enemies are out for blood.

Winston has my heart, the Morellis have incriminating photos, and I’m left with nothing except three stepbrothers who want to hurt me and a future in doubt. I knew Winston wouldn’t be my prince charming, but that didn’t stop me from falling for him.

After all, the slippers fit, and I let myself believe I’d be dancing with Winston forever.

Until too much truth comes to light.

Until I realize instead of ruling the board, I was just a pawn.

In the end, I have only one question. When his game with me is over, will I be able to pretend as if the glass slipper wasn’t a perfect fit?

Review

I jumped into this one right after finishing Prince Charming. And The Glass Slipper ended up being my favorite book of the trilogy.

The Glass Slipper is probably the most plot-heavy of the three books. While the ending was not entirely unexpected, I did like that there were a few surprises thrown in as well. Though this is a plot-heavy book, it doesn’t mean that Win and Ash don’t have any character growth. In fact, I think both do quite a bit of growing in this book. Both Win and Ash surprised me. I appreciated that neither of them fell victim to being as immature as I would have expected.

I’ve said all along how well-matched Win and Ash were, and this book really proves that. I also loved seeing Ash interact with Win’s family. She and Perry are my absolute favorite. I hope that the writer of Perry’s book incorporates her into his book somehow because they are just too adorable together. I also liked seeing Ash with Caroline. Ash is wise well beyond her 18 years, and it is fun seeing her figure out the Constantine matriarch.
This was a very satisfying end to Ash and Win’s story. Though I do have to say I could have done without the very end of the book, but I understand this is romance, and there is a certain expectation that must be upheld.
