Review
I have read several other books in this series, so I figured it was probably time to read The Wedding Date.
The Wedding Date starts as a fake dating trope and then becomes so much more. I loved Drew and Alexa together. They had great chemistry. This couple had me behind them from the jump! Alexa had a great head on her shoulders, and I loved how well she handled everything in this book. I also loved how supportive Drew was of Alexa. They had a genuine partnership which was so great to see.
I enjoyed the story, but I wish it had had a little more. Drew clearly had some baggage, and I hope that had been explored a little more. But, maybe it was as simple as when you find the one; you find the one. I also liked the sublet and not so subtle at times discussions of race in this book. Not just because Alexa is black and Drew is white, but surrounding Alexa’s job and what she’s trying to do with that.
The Wedding Date was a great read, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should add it to your TBR.
