Review
This is a difficult review to write. Some great things happened in Heartless Sky, but many things just made me want to throw many things against the wall.
I knew going in that this would have a brutal cliffhanger, but I feel like this one was ruthless. As I mentioned, there were things I enjoyed in this book. Something I have been waiting for seven books, and then it all gets tarnished! As in the other books, this one has many unnecessary plots and chapters. This book did not need to be almost 1000 pages, especially when the last quarter of the book was just meant to break the readers’ hearts.
There is a lot that happens in this book, but quite honestly, much of it isn’t necessary to the overall plot of the series. I love reading about these characters, but I really don’t need all their points of view. The heartbreak I felt at the end of the book is a testament to how much I love the characters these women have written, but it hurts. Just when they get one ounce of happiness, it’s ripped away from them, and after seven books of this, it’s hard to take.
Will I read the last book in this series? Yes, but will I be wary of the other books I read by these authors? Yes.
