Review
After Sinner’s Playground I was intrigued but also wary. I’m happy to report that the story got going in Dead Man’s Isle.
This book was action-packed. Between Maverick, Luther, and Sean, Rogue has gotten herself in a bit of a pickle, and I am very excited to see how she gets out of it. You can also start to see the guys come together, and at least some of them accept that they will have to share Rogue. Though I am curious to see how they are going to get Fox on board. I’m also happy to report that this book also has A LOT more steam than the first book. There was a little in Sinner’s Playground, but Dead Man’s Isle blows that book out of the water in terms of steam.
This story definitely picked up, and I see where it’s going; it will be interesting to see how this resolves itself, though I have a feeling it will involve all of the guys and Rogue working together. I liked getting to see a little more of Shawn, who is worse than I thought, and Luther, who isn’t as bad but clearly a master manipulator. We also get a lot more information about Maverick and what happened to him, which for all its setup, was missing from the first book.
I am certainly excited to read the next book in this series!
